Interventions. A dialogue between the modern and the contemporary

This exhibition catalogue celebrates the works of five pivotal artists from the Arab world. It honors the careers of Dia Azzawi, Farid Belkahia, Ahmed Nawar, Ibrahim el-Salahi, and Hassan Sharif. It highlights their individual contributions to forging and promoting modern art and enriching the history of aesthetics in their respective countries, and their collective voice in articulating the different understandings of what we call Arab modernism today. Recognized nationally, regionally and globally, each of the five artists remain influential today for their contributions to aesthetics, education, nationalism, and innovation movement.
