Guido Crepax | Lanterna Magica - Limited Edition (Bambole)

Published as a tribute to the first edition of the 1978 graphic novel, the Limited Edition of Lanterna Magica is a large-format volume featuring three numbered silkscreen prints, authenticated by the Guido Crepax Archive and printed in a run of 100 copies each, as well as an art print created by Lorenzo Mattotti. Numbered from 1 to 100: Bambole. Guido Crepax’s atypical images unfold like an indefinite, and perhaps indefinable, dream of refined elegance. His incisive black lines, immersed in the quiet luminosity of the ivory paper, simultaneously contain and liberate form, enclosing the silhouettes yet allowing them to dissolve into suggestion. Through this stark interplay of contrasts, the figures emerge not as fixed realities but as perceptual impressions — compositions which, in a profoundly Gestalt-like manner, evoke the suspended and fluid logic of the dream.
