SKIRA TEMPORARY STORE ATCHIESETTA DELLA MISERICORDIA

Thanks to a significant partnership with Etnia House of Arts, the project takes shape within the Chiesetta della Misericordia, in the Cannaregio district - a space recently returned to the city following a comprehensive restoration and now reimagined as a venue for artistic production, encounters, and experimentation.

Skira’s temporary store is conceived as a vibrant hub for dialogue with the international cultural scene, animated by a public programme featuring artists, curators, and leading figures from the cultural world.

Alongside this programme, the space also invites visitors to read, browse, and discover a curated selection of key titles in contemporary art, including a number of limited editions, reflecting Skira’s ambition to move beyond the traditional notion of the book and elevate it into a true collector’s object.

Erwin Wurm
‍Dreamers

The Fortuny Museum is hosting an exhibition dedicated to the Austrian artist Erwin Wurm, showcasing new, previously unseen sculptures and works that revisit some of his most famous series. The exhibition spans three floors of Palazzo Fortuny in Venice, which served as the residence and studio of the Spanish fashion designer Mariano Fortuny during the first half of the 20th century. Curated by Elisabetta Barisoni and Cristina Da Roit, the exhibition highlights how Wurm regards the physical act of gaining and losing weight as a true sculptural gesture, often transformed into illusions of bodily expansion or contraction.

Marina Abramovic
‍Transforming Energy

Marina Abramović will make history in 2026 as the first living woman to be honoured with a major exhibition at the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice. Marina Abramović. Transforming Energy will open on 6 May 2026, to coincide with the 61st Venice Biennale inaugural week. Curated by Shai Baitel, Artistic Director of the MAM in Shanghai, in close collaboration with Abramović, the exhibition spans the galleries of the permanent collection and the temporary exhibition spaces, a first in the history of the institution. At its heart lies the dialogue between past and present, body and spirit, material and immaterial.
